Never too much love
Not a Hallmark holiday
My mom told me never to wear red & pink together. The fashion icon I was, I avoided the color combo till I was a full adult. Now I can wear whatever I want—and eat all the chocolate I want, since my hubby is a fruit guy (like lemon sorbet? Sorta lame on Valentine’s day!) And like fashion dictates, I completely reject the notion that today is a made-up day to sell candy and paper hearts. In this hard world there’s never enough love—we could do with more days like today, when we decorate heart cookies & play Valentine’s bingo with our kids. Loving each other starts early in life, so go forth and be the light (oh, and eat some chocolate!)
